Brock grew up in Blue Hill, Maine. He is a 1996 George Stevens Academy graduate, where he met and later married his wife, Jessica. He graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in April of 2008 from the prestigious Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri. After working in Maryland, Dr. and Mrs. Mattson moved back to Maine to open a Practice, be closer to their families and to start their own family. They now have two beautiful children, Madison and Keenan.
Dr. Bob Nesiba, ( also a Logan graduate ) planned on retiring, but wanted a Chiropractor he could trust with his patient base. He met Dr. Mattson, and they got along very well. The result... Dr. Mattson, purchased Dr. Nesiba's practice. They worked together for a short time and Dr. Mattson took over when Dr. Nesiba retired in December of 2009. He keeps the name as Nesiba-Mattson Chiropractic and Wellness Center as homage to the fantastic work Dr. Nesiba did over the years.
Dr. Mattson’s expertise extends beyond the treatment of such common ailments as headaches, neck pain and back pain. A background in physical therapy, which he studied at Husson University, allows him to treat a wide range of additional problems. He is also certified in Active Release Techniques and by the Titleist Performance Institute as a golf, fitness and medical professional and can help golfers avoid incurring repetitive injuries.
“There’s no one anywhere near the area that does that.'
Brock Mattson, D.C. uses chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. Mattson, D.C. takes a 'whole person' approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Mattson, D.C. will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs. Under the supervision and care of our caring and skilled chiropractor, patients report higher functioning in all areas of their lives.

We would love to introduce our newest member of our practice. Dr. Meaghan Brown was born and raised in Downeast Maine and has always wanted to help people since she was a young girl. After graduating Summa cum Laude from both the Doctor of Chiropractic and the Master’s of Acupuncture programs at New York Chiropractic College and the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, she felt that it was time to return home with her integrated education of the human body. Armed with the knowledge of how to detect and adjust the body’s external neuromuscular system with her chiropractic degree and the ability to influence the internal environment with acupuncture, she is eager to help make a positive impact on the lives of those in the Ellsworth community. Besides working with those that want to remain active in all their activities, she likes to focus on pain, headaches, infertility, pregnant women and children. She has taken specialized courses in Whole Food Nutrition and Kinesiology Taping and loves to use an integrated approach to your healthcare. If Dr. Meaghan isn’t in the office, she loves to be out in the woods hiking a new trail, catching the ball on a softball field or playing all year long in fun co-ed sports like kickball and dodgeball. If you or anyone you know could benefit from decreased pain and increased mobility and energy, please call Active Chiropractic at 207-667-4678 to see if she is right for you!
